BHTA & Walden University Honor ‘Tourism Champion’ From Sandals Emerald Bay, Great Exuma

Tourism Champions are put forward by their employers as someone who contribute positively to the growth and development in their organization and by extension the advancement of the tourism industry in The Bahamas.  They are chosen for their consistent highest standard of service, professionalism, and positive attitude.

Walden University is a global leader in student-centered online education.  They have partnered with the BHTA to recognize Tourism Champions on a monthly basis, at a luncheon hosted by Walden University where fellow employees, peers, family and supervisory staff gather to listen to a Walden Faculty presenter speak on a topic chosen by the respective Tourism Champion, and to hear about educational opportunities provided by Walden.  Each Tourism Champion is awarded a $2500.00 Walden University scholarship; and employees of BHTA Member organizations are offered a 25% discount on Walden University online courses.

For the month of June, Lamon Rolle; Butler at Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the Tourism Industry.

Joining in the celebrations to honor Lamon and to express their thanks was Jeremy Mutton, General Manager and Kressville Ritchie, Manager at Sandals Emerald Bay in Great Exuma.  Lamon is described as humble yet diligent in his quest to be the best in this field while striving for excellence.  He is excited to undertake the opportunity to continue his education with Walden University and challenged his coworkers to embrace the opportunities as well.
