Bahamas Eco-Camp

The video shows firsthand the value of the camp experience — creating advocates for conservation issues, taking personal responsibility for environmental stewardship and sustainable living practices, while broadening their knowledge of natural resource management strategies, environmental careers, and the interplay between tourism and the environment.

We wish to increase the opportunities for even more young people to attend the camp annually.  It costs approximately $500 to send each student.  In support of that we invite individuals and companies to be sponsors.  Any size donation will help.  For our large sponsors, should you be able to contributed $1,500, you can identify an individual of your choice to send to the camp.  A $2,500 contribution allows you to identify two individuals.  These are great ‘scholarship’ opportunities for the children of employees or other young people in need who would benefit from the camp experience.

We want to especially thank those who have came forward in 2010 in support of the camp, including our major sponsors Bahamas Ferries, Kerzner International, Baha Mar, and the Lyford Cay Club. Additionally, supplies and support for the camp were donated by Caribbean Bottling (Coca Cola), Micronet, Dolphin Encounters, Stella Maris Resort, Blue Water Resort Cable Beach, and Asa H. Pritchard.

You can pledge your support by emailing bha@bahamashotels.org or by sending your contribution directly to the Bahamas National Trust with the BNT Environmental Youth Camp Pledge Form.
