There are growing worries among staff at the Old Bahama Bay hotel in West Grand Bahama that their jobs may be on the line, as Ginn is reportedly set to put the property on the market.

Enrique De Marchena Kaluche, president of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association, is urging the Caribbean to "strengthen international advertising and programs" to counter the effects of the tourism reductions seen across most of the region.

A committee has been formed to comprehensively examine the country's gaming laws, and its members are expected to have recommendations completed by the end of next month, Tourism Minister Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace told The Nassau Guardian.

The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) has named Josef Forstmayr President-elect for 2010 - 2012.  Forstmayr is a director on the Jamaica Tourist Board and Managing Director at Round Hill Hotel & Villas in Jamaica. Before entering his two-year term, Josef will go through a one-year initiation as President-elect that will prepare him for his role as CHTA President.
