Thank You and Update Re: National Culinary Team

Taste of the CaribbeanWe would like to offer our sincere thanks for your continued support of our National Culinary Team, as they continue to prepare to compete at Taste of the Caribbean in Miami at the end of June

Update
By way of an update, The Team has been working diligently; perfecting their culinary, cocktail and ice sculpture creations. This has manifested into the most delicious creations, those of us who have had the privilege of sampling, have ever tasted. Their work truly exemplifies the incredible talent we have in The Bahamas.

Mentoring
The National Team has also made an outreach to the Junior Chefs who are currently studying at the College of The Bahamas’, Culinary & Hospitality Management Institute. The Chefs have recently conducted a number of mentoring sessions with the students.

This process has been embraced by the students and team members alike as the junior chefs have been able to work side by side with the elite chefs. The young chefs endeavor to learn from the National Culinary Team, connect with them and truly see first-hand what the future holds if they aspire to achieve the same level of excellence.

Bank of The Bahamas Supports National Culinary Team

The 2014 National Culinary Team will now be cashless at the Taste of the Caribbean Competition…..but that’s a good thing!!

(Bank of The Bahamas Limited) has provided the chefs, bartender and ice carver with a beautifully illustrated Prepaid BOB Card which will be pre-loaded with funds that the Culinary Team will be able to use during their stateside stay.

VAT Delay Presents Readiness Opportunity

Business readiness is the key to minimizing the expense and challenges of converting to a Value Added Tax scheme, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses according to Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association President Stuart Bowe.

“BHTA welcomes the delay in implementing a Value Added Tax which will allows adequate time for the public and private sectors to do the planning, training, and operational conversions necessary for the transition” states Bowe.
