Fountain: BOIPB To Provide Promotional Travel Offers

Executive Director of the Bahamas Out Islands Promotion Board (BOIPB) Kerry Fountain said at the Bahamas Hotel & Tourism Association’s board of directors and membership meeting last week Thursday, that the board will be focusing on providing promotional travel offers for prospective tourists in order to make airlift more affordable.

“Our focus will continue to be on providing consumer consumer promotional offers that make the cost of getting to The Bahamas more affordable. And then we feel, given the type of visitors that will be coming to our islands are more luxury, we really feel we have to keep our efforts up in terms of customer service,” said Fountain.

He continued: “As far as promotional offers are concerned, we reintroduced on Monday our $250 air credit, which provides an air credit of $250 for four-night stays. You see with our booking travel and blackout dates for those that are flying via Nassau, we have a two fly free. You stay four nights, you get one ticket from Nassau to one of our out islands. If you stay seven nights, we pay for two tickets.

“We have extended that now, not just to US and Canada residents, but also residents of Europe and Latin America. And because we feel this is vastly untapped, we haven’t left out our Bahamas residents, particularly those that reside in or on the island of New Providence. And when I say residents, notice I didn’t say Bahamians, because we have a lot of Americans. As long as you are living legally in The Bahamas, this offer is open to you.”

Fountain added: “We’re going to continue to focus on our customer service initiatives. We try to do our customer service training in the off season, so in January, in May, in September, October, early December, early November. We don’t just do it and not measure it, we measure it.”
