Inaugural Session of Revans University

The Bahamas Hotel Associations is partnering with Revans University, with the support of International Management Centre Association Socrates (IMCA) to launch the Professional Master of Management (M.Mgmt) in Hospitality & Tourism.  This is being done in an effort to assist with the continuous development of seasoned hotel owners and operators as well as senior/experienced management executives in our Hospitality & Tourism Industry.
 
This program has been successfully launched by the Jamaica Hotel & Tourism Association and the St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association.  It has also now been launched by the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association.  Jamaica is actually in its eighth successful year of running this program and have some 80+ graduates of the programs...

Progress In Baha Mar's Loan Discussions

BAHA Mar and Scotiabank were last night said to be "close" to a resolution over the latter's $170 million syndicated loan that financed the developer's acquisition of the existing Cable Beach properties, sources close to the situation telling Tribune Business that "tremendous progress" had been made.

Headlining this year's event is former NBA superstar Earvin "Magic" Johnson, music mogul Steve Stoute and economist Mike Bryant of the Federal Reserve.

April 30 Deadline for 2010 Tourism Scholarship Applications

Over the past five years over 32 hotel industry scholarships valued at over $100,000 have been awarded to Bahamian students, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the hotel sector and BHA's work with an industry regional scholarship programs.  The Bahamas Hotel Association and its partner organizations, the Bahamas Hotel Catering and Allied Workers Union, and the Bahamas Hotel Employers Association, are seeking applicants for scholarships available to students and employees wishing to further their education in tourism-related studies.
 
BHA is presently soliciting applicants for the Industry Partners Pat Bain Scholarships. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, April 30th.
