Resort Occupancies Good Despite 'Flat' Q2

DESPITE what he described as a ‘flat’ 2013 second quarter, the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association’s (BHTA) president said the New Providence hotel industry had still seen good occupancies for the period and was working to hit “acceptable” levels for the third quarter.

Team Bahamas Brings Home the Gold

The Bahamas National Culinary Team is bringing home a record haul of honors following their outstanding performance at this year’s Taste of The Caribbean competition in Miami, Florida.  The Bahamas captured team gold and several top regional and individual honors in the 20th anniversary of the prestigious regional event held by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association.

Bahamas Well-Represented At Taste of The Caribbean

The Bahamas has assembled a mix of veteran and young chefs to represent the country at a regional culinary event – The Taste of the Caribbean in Miami.

Chefs, pastry chefs and bartenders from throughout the Caribbean will meet in Miami from June 26 to 30 for the annual competition. Devin Johnson, manager of the Bahamas’ team said the team got an earlier start than last year in preparing for the competition this year, increasing its chances of reaching the gold medal standard at the 2013 event.
