Tourism Statistics

Bahamas Tourism Statistics & Industry Information

The Planning & Research Department collects and processes data from surveys conducted by the Tourism & Hospitality Information Network (THINK) at airports, on board cruise ships and in marinas. Secondary statictics are also collected from tourism partners.

From these surveys primary databases are updated and maintained on stopover visitors and cruise visitors, as well as specific information on special groups of stopover visitors, for example, African American visitors.

The Tourism & Hospitality Information Network provides the baseline tables of statistics captured through the efforts described above. For most marketing information based on the Immigration Card that data goes back to the year 2000 - although basic trend tables, for example stopovers, extended back far beyond 2000. The formats presented are designed to give tourism partners a glimpse of the key trends, a glance of what is happening today and quick way for to find needed information.
