Cruise Passenger Spending Grows 850 Percent

Cruise arrivals to The Bahamas have grown by 76 percent between 2000 and 2012, according to data recently released, with overall revenue generated from cruise arrivals ballooning by over 850 percent to just under $400 million per annum over the same period.

Scholarship Applications Now Being Accepted

Thank you to BHTA members who supported our recent fundraising activities.  Thanks to you there are presently 12 Bahamian students receiving scholarships valued at $67,000!

Now we need to set our sights on assisting another group of promising Bahamians with pursuing a career in tourism.

Applications are now being accepted for scholarships thru the Industry Partners Patrick S. Bain Scholarship Fund (to COB), the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Education Foundation, and the Caribbean Tourism Organization Scholarship Foundation.
