Passenger Arrival Times At LPIA

With the increase in summer travel traffic through the US Departure Terminal, we are receiving reports of extended delays in processing passengers through security and US Preclearance at Lynden Pindling International Airport.

Whether flying direct out of Nassau or in transit from a Family Island or Grand Bahama, please advise travelers to arrive at the terminal three hours prior to scheduled departure to avoid missed flights.

This is especially important during peak travel hours and days.  BHA continues to monitor this situation and has asked Bahamas Airport Authority and US Embassy officials to monitor likewise, with the view that manpower assignments may need to be rescheduled or increased given the increase in traffic.

We invite members to notify us of circumstances where excessive delays are experienced with processing in security or preclearance.

Thank you.
